Drug free awareness programme held

As part of the District Nasha Mukt Abhiyaan Action Plan, an awareness programme was conducted by Kakching district administration and District Social Welfare Office, Kakching under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, at Kakching Higher Secondary School on Friday.
During the function, Kakching Higher Secondary School principal Naorem Nomita led a pledge to towards making Kakching district drug-free.
On the other hand, SAVO, Kakching Mayai Leikai secretary Yengkhom Vidyadhar Singh shared his experience and advised the students not to succumb to peer pressure but advised them to avoid drug use and lead a healthy lifestyle.
The event was attended by Nikita Thangjam, member secretary Kakching District Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan member secretary and officer District Social Welfare; S Rameshwar Singh, senior counsellor IRCA Healing Point; and among others.
It may be recalled that Kakching district administration and District Social Welfare Office jointly launched 'Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan', a signature campaign under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment at Kakching DC office complex on July 24 .
