Viral load testing camp held in Jiribam

Imphal, February 01 2023: Under the directive of joint director CST Division, Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) conducted a one-day 'Viral Load Testing Camp' at Jiribam district hospital, Ningsingkhun on Wednesday.

In a release, Jiribam CMO Dr E Okendro Singh informed that the camp was jointly organised by SETU fhi360, PATH, SHARE India, JNIMS ART Centre, LAC Jiribam District Hospital and CWA & TIPTEEDSTI Jiribam during which 24 patients undergoing treatment at the district hospital were tested for viral load.

Pointing out that Jiribam is 222 km away from the main centre JNIMS, Imphal, the CMO said that patients from the district are facing difficulties in reaching JNIMS due to financial and health issues.

Viral load testing is very important to the patients to know their health status, the CMO stressed and further appealed to authorities concerned to organise regular viral load camps and CD4 count or alternate arrangements until proper facilities are available at the Jiribam district hospital as well as a fully fledged ART ceritre.
