Eye screening, cataract surgery camp conducted

Imphal, June 30 2022: Keishampat Thiyam Leikai Development Club and Shija Eye Care Foundation jointly organised free eye screening and cataract surgery camp at Thiyam Leikai community hall on Thursday.

Speaking in this regard, Club president Chongtham Iboyaima informed that the camp is the 7th joint initiative with Shija Eye Care Foundation.

While pointing out that when educational institutions shifted to online mode of classes due to Covid-19 pandemic students were exposed to mobile phones for protracted, thereby increasing eye related problems, he said the camp has been organised to help early diagnosis of eye ailment among the youngsters as well as to prevent cataract, which is common among people above 60 years.of age and have high pressure on their eyes.

The locals were screened for cataract, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cornea & pterygium, conjunctivitis and allergy during the camp.
