Imphal, October 30 2012:
With the installation of solar lighting systems in six offices of the Deputy Commissioners there is high expectation that the employees will now be able to concentrate on their tasks more efficiently.
A source in the Manipur Renewable Energy Development Agency (Manireda) told the Sangai Express that most of the complaints from the DC offices centred on irregular power supply which consequently hindered efficient working by the staff members.
Pointing out that power supply failure was often cited for the delays caused to official file processing in the DC offices, the source said such excuses would be a thing of the past as solar lighting system of 25 kilowatt capacity each have been installed at the DC offices of Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Senapati, Ukhrul and Bishnupur districts.
Even the said system is capable of illuminating the office rooms, run computers and photostat/fax machines, the source suggested that replacing the old office machinery with power-efficient gadgets would ensure uninterrupted power supply.

further information that requisite materials for installation of similar facilities in the three remaining DC offices have already been procured, the source said an official intimation is being awaited from the district authorities concerned to begin the installation works.
It is also informed that SDO offices of Ukhrul, Senapati and Tamenglong districts have also been provided 1 kilowatt capacity solar lighting systems by Manireda.
There is also High Court order which annulled the agreement signed between the committee and chiefs of Chadong and Lamlai Khunou villages.
The same agreement was also denounced by Chadong villagers.
When the affected villagers have not been given any rehabilitation package, no amount be sanctioned for rehabilitation and resettlement of fabricated households, R Leishipen asserted.
