Imphal, July 30 2013:
The signatories of the "Naga Concordant" led by the conveners of the High Level Commission met on July 21 and 23, 2013, with the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR), to prepare for and convene a meeting with the highest level leaders.
Subsequently Isak Chishi Swu, Th Muivah, Gen (Retd.) Khole Konyak, Kitovi Zhimomi, Brig (Retd.) S.Singnya and Zhopra Vero, along with each group's high level commission members met on July 27 and 29, 2013, honoring the common cause of the Naga's historical and political rights.
Among the issues that were openly shared and discussed, the leaders stressed the importance of Naga reconciliation and agreed to further strengthen the present reconciliation process.
The FNR encouraged the leaders to demonstrate their commitment by moving forward together based on lessons learned from the past.
Since the intended goal is to honor and achieve common aspirations, the FNR called for all the Naga political groups to maintain the status quo and to refrain from any unwarranted activities in order to bring stability to Naga society.
Recognizing the necessity for all Nagas to unite in the shared purpose towards achieving Naga's historical and political rights, the Naga reconciliation process remains open and accommodative to other Naga political groups that are committed to the Naga reconciliation process, as well as agreeing to abide by and uphold its principles.
"FNR feels that Naga society has reached an important juncture in our political history.
We earnestly call upon the various organizations in all Naga areas to support for the realization through the Naga reconciliation process", said a press release issued by the FNR.
