Draft electoral rolls for 60 ACs published

Imphal, October 29 2024: Draft electoral rolls of all the 60 Assembly Constituencies of Manipur were published today and as per the draft electoral rolls, the total number of electors in the State has reached 20,34,660 .

Meanwhile, a Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign for Special Summary Revision 2025 was launched today under the theme "Eikhoi Voter Challasi" .

Briefing media persons at his Lamphelpat office this afternoon, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Pradeep Kumar Jha said that the draft electoral rolls of the 50 Assembly segments have been published as per the schedule fixed by the Election Commission of India (ECI) .

According to the draft electoral rolls published today, the total number of voters in the State has reached 20,34,660 as compared to 20,26,623 voters recorded in the final electoral rolls of 2024.It means the total number of voters has increased by 8037 .

While the gender ratio has increased from 1068 to 1069, the elector-population ratio has come from 55.54 per cent to 54.84 per cent.

The total number of polling stations remains unchanged at 2955 .

PK Jha said that the people and representatives of political parties may access the draft electoral rolls at the offices of Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers or from Booth Level officers.

The draft electoral rolls may also be accessed at the CEO Manipur's website https:/ceomanipur.nic.in .

Recognised National and State political parties may obtain one copy of the draft electoral rolls free of cost.

To obtain a copy of the draft electoral rolls, recognised political parties may send their representatives to the CEO with authorisation letters, PK Jha said.

He said that additional copies may be purchased at the rate of Rs 2 for one and Re 1 for half page.

DVD-ROM copy for each Assembly segment has been priced at Rs 100, he added.

With the publication of the draft electoral rolls, Special Summary Revision 2025 has also commenced today.

Claims and objections for enrolment in the electoral rolls, deletion and correction of details may be submitted till November 28 .

People may submit application forms to EROs/AEROs or BLOs or in online mode through https://voters.eci.gov.in or mobile app Voter Helpline.

All complaints will be disposed of on December 24 and the final electoral rolls will be published on January 6, 2025, the CEO said.

Youngsters who will attain 18 years of age on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 next year may submit Form-6 from now on.

For those people who would be attaining 18 years on January 1, 2025, their names may be added in the final electoral rolls after examining their applications.

For those who would be attaining 18 years on April 1, July 1 and October 1, EROs will initiate necessary processes to enrol them in the electoral rolls, PK Jha said.

In order to enrol more young voters in the electoral rolls, intensive activities will be taken up in educational institutions, universities and colleges during the revision period.

Electoral literacy clubs will also be activated in all schools and colleges.

Special drives will also be undertaken to facilitate IDPs to enrol their names in the electoral rolls, the CEO said.

Ahead of the press meet, PK Jha flagged off mobile vans of SVEEP campaign.

As a part of the campaign, a radio jingle and a street play on electoral inclusion were also released.

Additional CEO N Praveen, Joint CEOs Ramananda Nongmeikapam, Md Daulat Khan and many other officials were also present at the press meet.
