Imphal, July 29 2015:
Naoriya Pakhanglakpa AC MLA RK Anand today said that the decision of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly a few days back to demand integration of all contiguous Naga-inhabited areas under one administrative umbrella and to urge upon the Centre to fulfil the same is a challenge to Manipur.
MLA RK Anand was speaking to media persons on the sidelines of the inauguration function of Nongshaba Club and Nongshaba Community Hall, Kwaikeithel Heinou Khongnembi today.
RK Anand said such a decision is not the right step as it can make things more complicated.
Pointing out that the decision was a part of a political game plan, Anand said that the matter should be viewed seriously by all concerned.
The decision of the Manipur Legislative Assembly for the protection of the State's territorial integrity should be upheld by all, he said.
The BJP should understand the sentiments of the people and should not take up any action that could invite another mass upheaval.
RK Anand, who is also a member of the Drafting Committee of a Bill to replace the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers Bill 2015, appealed to all concerned to extend maximum cooperation to the drafting committee.
