Imphal, November 26 2013:
Saying that the incumbent Congress Government has failed miserably to protect lives and properties of citizens, Trinamool Congress State unit president Kim Gangte has demanded imposition of President's Rule in the State after dismissing the Congress Government.
The Trinamool Congress had earlier demanded PR, accusing the Congress Government of failing on all fronts.
Speaking to media persons at her office today, ex-MP Kim Gangte remarked that the series of bomb blasts seen in different parts of Imphal city where maximum number of security personnel are deployed is a clear manifestation of the Government's failure on law and order front.
The death of a lady cop inside the Chief Minister's bungalow and the bomb blast at Keishampat yesterday further reinforced people's conviction that the Government is unable to maintain law and order.

Now people have started questioning what the Government's intelligence wing has been doing, she asserted.
After the involvement of some security personnel in unlawful or criminal activities were unearthed, the general public now feel more and more insecure.
The root cause for the involvement of security personnel in unlawful activities is the quota system followed during recruitment.
Quota system is another name for corruption.
The Governor should send a detailed report of the prevailing law and order situation as well as the rising level of violence.
The Government of India, in response too should disband the incumbent Government and impose President's Rule in the interest of the people of Manipur.
By making some roads in the heart of Imphal city, the Government cannot claim that the State's transport infrastructure has improved.
It is already late for the Congress Government to resign on moral ground given its abject failure to develop road/transport infrastructure, control prices of essential commodities and establish good governance.
Talking about the issue of border fencing, Kim Gangte said that Trinamool Congress spokesperson MP Derek O Brien came to Imphal yesterday and held a meeting with the party's MLAs and office bearers about the issue.
The MP assured that the issue of Indo-Myanmar border fencing would tabled in the winter session of Parliament which would start from December 5 .
