Gaidon's homecoming ceremony held

A reception cum homecoming ceremony of UNC president Gaidon Kamei was held today at his native village at Longmai (Noney) Bazar market shed.
The reception function was jointly organised by Longmai Area Villages Council, Rongmei Naga Council, Inpui Naga Union, Naga Women Union Longmai Area, Longmai Bazar Board, Zeliangrong Students' Union Longmai Area and Longmai Area Churches Fellowship.
Speaking at the gathering, Gaidon Kamei said that all problems and conflicts can be solved through political dialogue.
"Even though the Government managed to capture and put us in jail, we achieved moral victory at the end", Gaidon said.
He went on to assert that the Naga people would not compromise their interests and rights under any circumstances.
The land and identity of Naga people would not be compromised.
The general public is the only strength of the Naga struggle, Gaidon said.
He then exhorted the gathering to even go to jail for the sake of Naga Nation.
Earlier, hundreds of people welcomed him and he was garlanded by many.
