Imphal, February 26 2017:
The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has stated that PM Modi's statement on the Framework Agreement was unsatisfactory.
Speaking to media persons at its office located at DM College campus today, AMSU secretary general Manjit Sarangthem said that Prime Minister Modi's statement on the Framework Agreement during his visit to the State yesterday was unsatisfactory and something which is not new.
"Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju have already said that the territory of Manipur would not be affected by the Framework Agreement signed between the Indian Government and NSCN-IM.
Moreover, Centre's interlocutor for Naga peace talks RN Ravi has been making contradictory statements every now and then regarding the Framework Agreement.
"We do not believe a single word they say.
There- fore, the contents of the Framework Agreement should be made public to support their statements," he added.
"Amid the demand to disclose the details of the Framework Agreement, NSCN-IM issued a statement before Prime Minister Modi's visit wherein the former stated that the Framework Agreement was a milestone acheivement.
The statement of NSCN-IM is contrary to that of the Central leaders," he said.
Stating that AMSU will continue their movement unless the demand id met, Manjit said that all the political parties of the State should initiate necessary steps to disclose the contents of the Framework Agreement before the election.
He further expressed dissatisfaction with the political parties for trying only to win the election.
"AMSU will endorse Committee of Civil Societies Kangleipak (CCSK) and UCM in their political movement.
It is our appeal to the people of the State to extend their support as well" .
