Noney gears up for World Tourism Day

World Tourism Day is celebrated all over the world on September 27 and this year, the day will be observed under the theme 'Tourism and Jobs : A better future for all' with India as the host country.
On this day, World Tourism Day will also be held at Noney district HQs with Chief Minister N Biren Singh as the chief guest.
The event, which will be organised at Noney district Longmai Ground, will be the first World Tourism Day which will be graced by the Chief Minister.
During a trip to the venue of the event at Noney today to inspect the preparation works, The Sangai Express witnessed that the people of the newly formed district were all eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Chief Minister, which will be a first in its history.

Braving the rain and the weather, the people were busy working to complete all the necessary preparations for the event at Longmai Ground.
Aged and the elderlies were also seen busy making Yendai Polang made from reeds/bamboos to be presented to the Chief Minister and other officials.
The people were eager to warmly welcome the Chief Minister and his entourage and also apprise him of the shortcomings and conditions of the district.
Speaking to The Sangai Express, Longmai Village Authority chairman Kasaigai Gangmei said that the people of Noney are elated to learn that the World Tourism Day will be held at the district this year and added that the people are ready to accord a warm welcome to the Chief Minister and all those who will accompany him.
He expressed belief that the Chief Minister will give assurance to the people to do all that is necessary to develop the district at the earliest.
Lauding the Chief Minister as a dynamic leader who follows his promises with prompt action, Kasaigai Gangmei said that the people believe that the Chief Minister will do everything in his power to bring development to the district.
