Imphal, June 25 2021:
Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA, Kh Joykisan has reiterated that incorporating ideas from Opposition will greatly help Government in fighting the pandemic.
The MLA, in a video release, expressed regret that the State Government has not paid much attention to the proposals and suggestions made by the Opposition party (Congress).
The MLA said that the Opposition had proposed mass testing across the State, restriction of entry to the State for people without Covid negative certificate and distribution of meals to people within containment zones and CCC inmates, but either their proposals are unheard or its implementation takes an unduly long time.

Regarding the ongoing Covid vaccination programme, the MLA maintained that vaccination for AC was kicked off in the early part of May at Thangmeiband Lairenhanjaba Leikai Community hall but it was stopped the very next day as there were some interventions.
Later the vaccination programme was conducted at PHC at Langol Tarung by preparing a makeshift hall, he said while questioning why the same programme when organised at the PHC was not stopped.
He also charged that the vaccination programme being supervised by the district administration was lacking transparency as it has not communicated with Covid-19 Enforcement Committees headed by MLAs of respective ACs as chairmen.
The Congress MLA also drew the attention of the State Government to review the growing number of traffic in Imphal city even as curfew and other restrictions are in place.
