Imphal, June 25 2012: Conveying deep anguish over the fratricidal killings at Haochong village and at Tamenglong headquarters on June 21, the Naga Women's Union has appealed to all Naga armed groups not to inflict any more harm on innocent people.

The NWU has also offered itself to break the ice among the warring groups if they (UG groups) have faith in them (Naga women) In a statement, the publicity wing of the NWU said that it would not tolerate such savage acts of crime at all while sentimentally adding that mothers, sisters and daughters mourn with bitter cry the death of their children, dear and near ones, be they civilian or underground.

Observing that the society is doomed to destruction, the NWU statement philosophically noted that the families are shaken, children's education deeply affected and the socio-economic conditions of the people have been worsened while many children become orphans and are forced to earn livelihood.

Forewarning that there would be no future for the next generation if the present state of affairs continue, the NWU statement fervently appealed to all the underground groups to stop bloodshed.

The NWU further offers itself to be used as agent for negotiation among the warring groups if they trust them � mothers, sisters and daughters.
