CCpur, October 24 2019:
Panic buying has become a hallmark of Churachandpur with people thronging the oil pumps, apprehensive that any outcome of the Indo-Naga talks could hamper the National Highway.
For the past couple of days, long queues have been the norm at pumps as many fear there could be intense agitation or law and order breakdown anytime either in Nagaland or in Manipur.
Local dailies have even reported that some essential items are sold at exorbitant rate due to the panic buying witnessed in some areas.
Consequently the Deputy Commissioner as well as the CEO ADC Churachandpur have issued a directive to all traders not to raise the prices of essential commodities.
An order issued by the Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav tasked several officials to ensure that fair and legal prices of commodities are adhered to in the district.
He also instructed fuel outlets to dispense oil as per the fuel tanks of the customers and not issue them in bulk.
In addition the outlets have been instructed to maintain sufficient buffer stock, excluding the dead stock in the storage tank.
