Imphal, August 24 2018:
NPF Manipur State unit general secretary Akhui has categorically stated that NPF will discuss the issue of Naga solution with other stake holders only if a State Assembly session is convened.
Under the auspices of the Naga Hoho, the UNC organised a public meeting about the Indo-Naga peace talk at TNK Hall Senapati yesterday where all Naga MLAs were warned not to participate in any Manipur State Assembly session convened to discuss the Indo-Naga peace talk.
Talking to this reporter on telephone, the NPF general secretary said that they will discuss the issue if a State Assembly session is convened.
There is no compulsion that NPF should tow the line of CSOs, Akhui said.
"A resolution was adopted at the recent State Assembly session and I think there is a rule which prohibits discussion of the same matter in the Assembly in the next six months", he said.
Even though the State Govt convened an Assembly session on August 10 which was postponed to August 16 and then indefinitely, NPF did not receive a single circular.
As such, the party did not discuss whether the Assembly session, if held, should be attended or not, he added.
