Imphal, March 24 2024: Some arms and explosives were seized by Bishnupur commandos from Oinam Yumpham/Oksoi area this morning.

Acting on specific information received from 33 Assam Rifles Maibam Lotpa Ching COB which was corroborated with their own sources, a team of Bishnupur commandos carried out cordon and search operations in different parts of Nambol area and recovered arms and explosive items from Oinam Yumpham/Oksoi area, Bishnupur district under Nambol Police Station this morning.

During the search operation at Nambol Oinam, Nambol Naorem and Mantha Ching, one unattended carton was found.

On opening the carton, arms and explosive items were found concealed inside.

The recovered arms and explosive items included one 7.65 pistol with two magazines, eight high explosive hand grenades, two Chinese hand grenades, one Kenwood set and one medical kit.

The recovered items were seized from the spot by observing necessary formalities and they were later handed over to Nambol police station for necessary action.
