Two CRPF men hurt in bomb blast

Imphal, November 22 2019:
At least two CRPF personnel sustained injuries when a bomb exploded at a youth club located near Manipur Legislative Assembly complex.
According to information culled from the spot, some unidentified persons hurled an explosive, suspected to be a hand grenade, at the compound of Thangmeiband Improvement Club located to the western side of Thangmeiband Lilashing Khongnangkhong, close to the Assembly complex at around 5.15 pm today.
The blast left two personnel of B-Coy, 87 Bn CRPF injured.
They have been identified as Jitenchandra Rava (41) from Assam and Jadep Munna (37) from West Bengal.
While Jitenchandra sustained injuries on the left leg, Jadep was hurt on the left shoulder.
Both of them have been taken to RIMS and they are said to be out of danger.
Sources informed that the B-Coy, 87 Bn CRPF came to the State sometime back to assist the State police in maintaining law and order.
They are currently attached to the CRPF camp located at Lamphelpat.
Four personnel of B-Coy, 87 Bn CRPF were on duty near the Thangmeiband Improvement Club when they were attacked by some unidentified persons by hurling an explosive.
The bomb exploded just beside the brick (compound) wall of the club.
Later top officials of Manipur Police and a team of Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad inspected the blast site.
Meanwhile, due investigation has been launched after registration of a case at Imphal police station.
