Education Department fetes Union MoS Dr RK Ranjan

The State Education Department felicitated Dr RK Ranjan Singh on his induction to the Union Ministry as the Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education recently.
The reception ceremony was organised by the Education Department at the multipurpose hall of the State Centre for Educational Research and Training (SCERT) today.
Speaking as chief guest at the felicitation function, RK Ranjan maintained that it was a big opportunity for the North East States to have five MPs inducted as Union Ministers.
He said that he is also one of the fortunate MPs from the region to get such a big responsibility in his very first term as an MP.
On National Education Policy-2020, the Union Minister said that it is fully a policy of reformation in the education system in the country, a vision envisaged by the Prime Minister.
"There are a lot of prospects and scopes which we can expect from this new education policy," he added.

The new policy has identified various areas through which education and employment can be linked up to go hand in hand.
Vocational education in schools and higher education has also been focused with due importance.
Employability rate will also be increased with the introduction of this new policy, he said.
RK Ranjan also informed that sport will also be introduced as a subject in schools and higher education.
Speaking as president at the reception function, Education Minister S Rajen Singh said that there have been many changes brought in the education sector by the present Government.
The rate of enrolment in the Government schools has unexpectedly increased during the recent academic session.
School buildings have been renovated, construction of new classrooms and blocks have been taken up under School Fagathansi Mission.
Equipment and other infrastructures have also been provided on priority, the Minister maintained.
He said that the Department of Education has been relentlessly working for the effective implementation of NEP 2020.A Task Force has also been constituted under the chairmanship of Commissioner Education.
A Sub Task Force has also been formed and assignments have also been distributed, he added.
Education Commissioner, M Harekrishna; Vice Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University, Dr Rajmuhon; Director of Education (S) L Nandakumar Singh; Chairmen of BOSEM and COHSEM; Director of Language Planning and Implementation, Th Chitra Devi and other officials of Education Department attended the reception function.
