Imphal, March 21 2017: Noted fashion designer Robert Naorem has said that Soibam Kanchan is set to represent Manipur in the Femina Miss India Finale 2017 to be held at Mumbai.

Soibam Kanchan has been selected from among the finalists of Miss Manipur Queen 2017 to represent the State in the biggest beauty pageant in the Country.

Speaking to media persons at the Robert Naorem Studio/Academy at Uripok, Robert Naorem expressed belief that if the State Government provides some support aside from the private players, the talented individuals of the State would get a chance to shine and grow.

Miss Manipur Queen 2017 was organised according to the guidelines of Femina and Soibam Kanchan will be the first ever contestant to represent Manipur in the Femina Miss India Finale 2017 which will be held at Mumbai in June.

Appealing to the people to support the talented individuals of the State, Robert Naorem said that Kanchan will undergo rigorous gym, diet, fitness and grooming regime under various trainers in order to prepare for the beauty pageant.

He further urged the people of the State to extend support to Kanchan, who will be participating in the beauty pageant in which 30 contestants from different States will be competing for the title.

Speaking to media persons, Soibam Kanchan said, "I want to thank all those who supported me and enabled me to reach such new heights.

I will train hard and give my best" .

Contestants Anmol Dhawan, Th Stella and Darubi Kangjam, who were also selected in Miss Manipur Queen 2017 will become the State Icon for the Tourism Department and Election Commission of India.
