Leaders of the JAC Against Anti-Tribal Bills (JACAATB) headed by its convenor H Mangchinkhup are said to have landed at New Delhi today for talks with the Central Government, presumably at the request of the latter.
Though it is not clear whom the JAC leaders will be meeting and on what ground, a statement issued by the JAC said a delegation headed by its chief convenor left for an emergency meeting with the Central Government at Delhi regarding the on-going tribal movement.
The statement comes amidst the planned inauguration of the re-installed Salpha Pumbuk (Martyrs Shed) that was gutted at around 2 am on October 8.The Martyrs Shed has become a symbol of protest of late and following its destruction, the shed was reconstructed with donations from the public and is schedule to be dedicated tomorrow at 6 pm.
However the dedication service has been postponed for now as the JAC leaders are now at New Delhi for a meeting.
