Imphal, August 19 2015:
Traders who came from Mao to sell vegetables and other goods at Imphal were not allowed to do any business today by su-pporters of the hunger strike being staged at Chingmeirong as a part of the ongoing mass movement for enforcement of ILPS or similar mechanism in Manipur.
Soon after the traders from Mao laid out their merchandises in front of MBC Church, a group of women came and asked them to wrap up their goods and leave the place as many people were on hunger strike a little distance away.
While those who understood Manipuri immediately left the place, some others who had difficulty in understanding Manipuri stayed back.
A little later, the same group of women came back and threw away some of their goods.

According to some traders who came from Mao, some of their merchandises were snatched and scattered by bandh supporters.
They said that they came all the way from Mao to sell their goods at Imphal.
While acknowledging the assistance provided by people of Imphal valley after they were prohibited from trading their goods at Kohima by allotting a site for selling their goods at Imphal, the Mao traders decried the harassment meted out to them today by fellow vendors of the valley.
Saying that Mao people have suffered and sacrificed a lot for the sake of Manipur's Dzuko Valley, they appealed to all the valley brethren not to subject them to such harassment in future.
They said that many of them could not speak Manipuri fluently.
