Imphal, April 18 2020: Reacting to reports that rice under PMGKAY and Dal (Masur) assured by the Chief Secre-tary for distribution to the public have not been distri-buted so far, the Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF&PD) Department has clarified that it has already allocated 12283.905 MT of rice under PMGKAY for distribution free of cost to NFSA card holders (both PHH and AAY) at the rate of 5 kg per person and 587.503 MT of dal for distribution free of cost at the rate of 1 kg per family covered by NFSA.

PMGKAY rice for 24 Assembly constituencies have been lifted by the Deputy Commissioners concerned and are in the process of distribution to the entitled beneficiaries.

Rice for the remaining 36 Assembly constituencies are in the process of lifting from FCI, said a statement of CAF&PD .

In respect of Thangmei-band AC, allocated quantity under PMGKAY for the month of April 2020 is 1600.85 quintals and this quantity had been lifted by Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West on April 9 and 10 .

Consignment of rice for Thangmeiband AC was lifted in 11 vehicles bearing registration no (s) ASO1C-1941 (loaded quantity 138.07 quintals), MNO4A- 0066 (137.42 quintals), MNO1- 6786 (138.02 quintals), MNO1-7961 (158.08 quintals), MN03 T-0981 (136.97 quintals), MNO1-8934 (138.47 quintals), MNO6T- 0578 (137.87 quintals), MNO2 7927 (158.50 quintals), MNO7C-4365 (158.45 quintals), MNO2A- 3895 (151.05 quintals), and MNO6T- 1044 (147.95 quintals).

The lifted quantity for Thangmeiband AC is stored in a community hall at Khoyathong (near Pukhri Achouba) .

Sub-allocation for the fair price shops is being finalised after which rice will be delivered to the respective FPS agent for distribution to the NFSA card holders in Thangmeiband AC, said CAF&PD.

Regarding dal to be distributed along with PMGKAY rice in the month of April 2020, NAFED has intimated that dal of Masur Malka variety will be delivered at Koirengei on April 30 after the milling is done by the ETC AGRO Processing (India) Pvt Ltd.

This will be distributed along with PMGKAY rice in the month of May 2020, said the statement of CAF&PD.
