NPF studies political scenario

Imphal, December 17 2018: The Naga People's Front, Manipur unit held a consultative meeting at the Autonomous District Council (ADC) Hall, Chingmeirong today and deliberated on the State's present political scenario.

The meeting discussed about launching political activities at the grassroots level with a view to the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.

Speaking to media persons after the meeting, NPF Manipur unit president Awangbow Newmai said that NPF chose to be a ' line-partner' of the incumbent Government led by Chief Minister N Biren with a view to bring peace, stability and positive changes in the State.

The restive situation which prevailed in Manipur for a long time has been addressed to a considerable extent, he remarked.

NPF has been working to neutralise all those forces which pose hindrances to the Government's efforts to bring development and fulfil people's aspirations.

NPF has been cooperating with the Government in every problem and issue including the problems of bandhs and blockades, Awangbow said.

He said that Manipur is inhabited by 40 communities and it is crucial to maintain a fair level of understanding among the communities.

Just as major communities have several issues, minority communities too have their own issues.

If the issues of minority communities are overlooked while the issues of major communities are given full attention, there would not be harmony in the State, said the NPF Manipur unitpresident.

He said that NPF felt very bad with those people who misled the public in their efforts to galvanise their political positions at the cost of NPF.

NPF strongly condemns any act of creating animosity among the people by concealing facts.

Till date, NPF has been tolerating silently all the false propaganda aimed at projecting the party in the wrong light but it's time to stop misleading the public and create undue misunderstanding.

Some people were using malicious words against NPF to take undue advantage but NPF is a political party and it has its tolerance limit and it would not do anything good if the tolerance limit is crossed, Awangbow said.

Those adversaries should understand that there many supporters of NPF and they should refrain from speaking and acting in ways which may hurt the NPF supporters, he continued.

NPF believes that a coalition Government would best serve the State in view of the many communities living together.

Such a Government can understand grievances and aspirations of each and every community, he said.

If there is complete peace and stability in Manipur, it would be a great development not only for the State but also for the whole North East region and the country, he said.

It is festival season and NPF would like to advise all concerned to refrain from doing anything which may create undue tension among the masses, he added.

He also appealed to all concerned not to project other political parties as malevolent in their efforts to take undue advantage.
