Joykisan details steps to improve schools in Thangmeiband
ACTAKDO fetes meritorious students

The 10th Thangmeiband Kendra Development Organisation (TAKDO) Meritorious Award was distributed to students from the Constituency (Thangmeiband) who scored 60 per cent and above in the Class X and XII examinations including the position holders along with three students who cracked the NEET examination today.
The award distribution ceremony was held at Ima Ibema Khunthokhanbi Sanglen, DM College campus in the presence of Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh Joykisan and TAKDO president Kh Nobokumar.
Speaking at the event, Kh Joykisan said that TAKDO was established before he joined politics with him as the founder president.
Saying that TAKDO has been giving awards to meritorious students from the Constituency as an encouragement for their hard work , the MLA expressed hope that all these students would play an active role in Nation building.
Joykisan also urged the students to reach out to him or TAKDO if they face any drawback in pursuing higher education.
Saying that he will establish Gurukul High School in Thangmeiband as assured before the Assembly elections, the MLA added that he has met Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Education Minister Th Basanta Kumar for the same.
The MLA also said that the construction site will be surveyed by the Engineering Cell of the Education Department tomorrow.
Saying that the same site will be inspected along with the Education Minister on July 21 again, Joykisan said that the Gurukul High School, once operative, will become a valuable resource for the entire State.
Over time, the Gurukul High School will be upgraded to higher secondary so as to reduce money spent for higher studies in other States, he added.
Further stating that the Centre has approved a project to upgrade Dhanamanjuri University and colleges affiliated to it, the MLA said that the State Government might have already sent the DPR for the same.
Lilashing Khongnangkhong High School has been renovated under School Fagathansi Mission while Thangmeiband Tombisana School is undergoing upgradation at a cost of Rs 1.20 crore, he said and added that Lainingthou School and Lalambung High School will also be upgraded shortly.
