Fitting tributes paid to Kishan, Token, Rajen

The 16th death anniversary of Dr Th Kishan, Y Token and A Rajen was observed today at Mapari Ningsingkol, Near Cheirap Court Complex, Uripok with the offering of floral tributes.
The ceremony was organised by Mapari Ningsingkol Lup (MANIL) under the theme "Chungsinminnabana Punsinnabada Laihalli" in remembrance of the brutal murders of the then Kasom Khullen SDO Dr Thingnam Kishan, his driver Aribam Rajen and staff Yumnam Token on February 17, 2009 .
Addressing the gathering, Professor Ch Sheelaramani, former Principal, DM College of Arts said that Dr Th Kishan taught in the Department of English, DM College of Arts and they also served together in the Textbook Writing Committee of BOSEM.

Portraying him as an energetic and resourceful intellectual of the State, she maintained that Dr Th Kishan was full of innovative ideas.
He entered the challenging world of civil service after working in the field of education.
"He was a sincere and honest civil servant who wanted to accomplish many good things.
His life was sacrificed due to his honesty", she said.
On his death anniversary, Ch Sheelaramani urged people to remember him as a symbol of sincerity.
On the occasion, Kapur Yumlembam, secretary, MANIL asserted that it is not the time to be governed by emotions.
Considering the turmoil in Manipur, he urged the State CSOs, women organisations, student bodies, local clubs and meira paibis to put their heads together to find a common solution.
In view of the dire situation in the State where a majority of its citizens are dealing with hardships, there is no other path for the indigenous communities but to unite, he said.
Other notable dignitaries present at the event include Bijoy Kakchingtabam, president, All Manipur Working Journalists' Union; Tourangbam Brajakumar Singh, Director, Environment & Climate Change, Government of Manipur and Soram Tekendrajit Singh, chairman, MANIL as presidium members.
