Imphal, October 16:
The Manipur State Congress Party is surprised to learn that many people in Mayang Imphal A/C claimed to have resigned from the MSCP though they are not even the members of the party, MSCP General Secy Kh Jadumani said.
Former Industries Minister M Nilachandra's name was not heard for a long time in politics since he was rejected by the people when he contested the 7th State Assembly election as a Minister.
He was also not seen at the State's crucial periods, Jadumani said.
Nilachandra's name is not in the list of MSCP members as he did not renew his membership after he was defeated in the last Assembly elections, he also said.
Manipuris are well aware of what stand the Federal Party of Manipur and its leaders had taken when they rose against ceasefire extension to the State.
The then FPM president and MLAs had not supported the public uprising, he said.
It will be ridiculous for the people if Nilachandra compares the MSCP with his FPM, Jadumani said adding that the people understand how MSCP president Th Chaoba, MP had worked for reviewing the ceasefire extension agreement when he was the Union MoS for food processing industries.
