13 cadres of MNRF and MNPF defect

At least 13 cadres of MNRF and MNPF have deserted their respective outfits and joined the NSCN/GPRN camp today.
Lance corporal Honpam, 2nd in command of the group said that they crossed over from Indo-Myanmar border area on July 25 .
He along with nine males and three women cadres including L/Corpls Horngam, Themboy, Wungnaoyo, Mayarngam, Tharmiwon, Rachael, Thanshok, Jasper, Salemphy, Rinyar, Worchui-ngam and Tuishim, left the organization.
Accepting them, they were warmly received by NSCN/GPRN.
They said that the girls were recruited after assuring them to provide job at Moreh town in different firms.
Some of the boys were enticed to join the organization by offering to pay a handsome amount of salary ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 per month and even called them for business partnership.
When they reached Moreh, they were forcibly taken to Burma and they were coerced to undergo military training at the training camp of some underground outfits.
They were used as forced labour of the outfit and some are used as the scouts of some outfits.
Seeing no hope or future, they decided to flee from the organization for good and surrendered for safety, they said.
