JD-U Manipur hails Janata Paribar

JD (U) Manipur has welcomed the recent formation of Janata Paribar, an umbrella political party of six parties.
A press meet was held in this regard today at the JD (U) Manipur office, Babupara.
Party president M Tombi said that Janata Paribar is being formed in the interest of the people of the country and added that every section of the people is entitled to protect their own identities.
Any one-sided political party will never last long as India is and should be a secular country.
He said that JD (U) candidates will contest the coming ADC election of May 30 under the new symbol of Janata Paribar if possible, and if not, the original flag and symbol of JD (U) will be used.
M Tombi added that the earlier ADC election was not 'election', as it was selection in the real sense.
He reminded that JD (U) has earlier ruled the state and performed really well.
The Janata Paribar has strong presence in Manipur, he claimed before appealing to all the people of the state to support Janata Paribar in the coming elections.
JD (U) general secretary Lien Gangte, on the other hand, strongly condemned the demise of one aged woman pensioner yesterday while trying to receive her pension at the 1st MR Ground.
He blamed Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai and Director Rangitabali Waikhom as responsible for this mishap.
Lian demanded Mirabai to resign her ministership and the director to be transferred to some other post as they are incompetent to hold the present positions.
He also assured of a financial assistance of the pension amount of rupees 4800 to the family of the deceased.
Moreover, Lien condemned politicising in the distribution of the old-aged pensions, demanded that the government should allow local MLAs to distribute the pensions, whether they are Congress MLA or non-Congress MLA, for the convenience of the elderly persons.
