Dr S Subbiah reelected as President and Sushri Tripathi elected as General Secretary of ABVP

Dr S Subbiah (Chennai) and Sushri Nidhi Tripathi (Delhi) have been elected unopposed as National President and National General Secretary respectively of nation's leading student organization Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad for the year 20l9-20 .
This announcement was made today from the Central Office of ABVP at Mumbai.
According to the statement issued by the Election Officer Dr D..KShah: from the Central Office of ABVP, the tenure of both the posts will be of one year, and both the office bearers will assume their responsibility during the 65"I National Conference of ABVP scheduled to be held in Agra (Braj) from 22nd to 25th November 20I9 .
Prof Dr S Subbiah hails from the Thoothukudi district in Tamil Nadu.
He has been an activist of ABVP since his student days.
A reputed cancer specialist in medical field, he has done MBBS MS and MCh (Surgical Oncology) .
At present, he is a Professor and Head of the Department of Surgical Oncology at Chennai's Kilpauk Medical College.
So far, he has performed more than 3000 surgeries, published more than 65 research papers in national and international medical journals and guided more than 50 students for super-specialty in Surgical Oncology.
He is an honorary member of various national institutions for cancer studies and research.
Right since student days he is inclined to serving Society through medical practice.
He takes keen Interest In development of education In Tamil Nadu and Tamil history.
Cultural Nationalism is his subject of special interest.
Since I986, he has held various responsibilities in ABVP such as Tamil Nadu State President and National Vice President.
He has been reelected as the National President of ABVP for this session (2019-20) .
He resides in Chennai.
Sushri Nidhi Tripathi hails from Pratapgarh district of Uttar Pradesh.
She has done BA from Allahabad University and MA MPhil from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
She continues to pursue PhD from JNU.
She has been actively associated with ABVP since 2013 .
After holding various responsibilities in JNU unit, she represented ABVP as the Presidential Candidate for JNUSU in the year 20l7 .
She actively participated in the students' protest against the anti-national sloganeering that took place in JNU In 20l6, and played an important role in taking the Mission Sahasi campaign undertaken by ABVP on national level.
She represented India in India's youth delegation to Sri Lanka organized by Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs.

As a researcher In Sanskrit literature she has presented papers in venous national and international conferences.
A vociferous spokesperson of nationalism and active on Issues of students' interests, she IS presently the National Secretary of ABVP.
She has been elected as the National General Secretary of ABVP for this session (20I9-20) she resides In Delhi .
