Imphal, May 15 2019: Mr Sougaijam Priyokumar Meitei, S/o Sougaijam Pradeepkumar and S (O) Thoibisana Devi of Lamboikhongnangkhong, Imphal West, Manipur has been conferred the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in Anthropology by Manipur University for his thesis entitled 'Adaptation of Migrants to the Modern Manipuri Mainstream' under the supervision of Prof M C Arunkumar, HOD, Anthropology, Manipur University, vide order No MU/9-13/18/Exam/1440, dated May 15, 2019 .

Dr Priyokumarhas published many research articles in reputed journals.

To his credit the book 'The Guest and The Host-Problems of Migration in Manipur' (2017)was published with co-authorship of Prof M C Arunkumar, Amazon Kindle Publishing, Middleown, USA .

He got MSc Anthropology (Gold Medalist), Manipur University in 2005 .

He clears UGC-JRF NET in Population Studies & qualifies UGC-NET in Anthropology, Sociology and Women Studies.

Currently he is serving as Guest Faculty in Department of Anthropology, Manipur University.
