Imphal, February 14 2016:
The State Government has no objection to the ongoing peace parleys between the Centre and NSCN (IM), but it would never accept anything which is detrimental to the territorial integrity of the State, said Congress MLA RK Imo.
He was speaking as chief guest at the inauguration function of a community hall at Mutum Leikai under Sagol-band AC today.
The MLA said that the State Government was accused of not giving co-opera- tion to the peace talks and not taking up development works in hill areas by NPF leaders in a political convention.
However, it is not right to heap blame upon the State Government without any basis, he said.
Manipur would not raise any objection when the Centre fulfils any demand of Nagaland including sovereignty if it does not disturb the boundary of the State, the MLA said.
Refuting the claim that development funds go mainly to valley areas, RK Imo said that funds are equally distributed to different ACs of the State.
As such, NPF MLAs must spell out the development works which have been taken up with their LAD fund to the public instead of blaming the State Government, he said.
He alleged that NPF MLAs are still getting their salaries and receiving other benefits although they had earlier announced their resignation.
Mutum Leikai Development Committee president Mutum Nilakomol and IMC Ward No 8 Councillor Kangabam Tikendra were also present at the function as guest of honour and president respectively.
Notably, NSCN-IM and GoI signed a framework agreement on August 3 last year.
