SF seize arms, ammo, explosives

Imphal, December 13 2024: Security forces seized a huge consignment of arms and ammunition from Keirao Khunou in Imphal East and Bamdiar Awang Leikai in Bishnupur today.

A combined team of Imphal East commandos and personnel of Assam Rifles conducted a search operation in the general area of Keirao Khunou, Imphal East District and its adjoining foothills at around 4 am today.

The arms and ammunition which were seized during the search operation include one MA4 Assault Rifle, one 12 bore single barrel gun, one 9 mm pistol, one .32 pistol, five hand grenades, five arming rings, two detonators, thirty pieces of 5.56 mm ammunition, two pieces of 12 bore ammunition, three pieces of 9 mm ammunition and two pieces of .32 mm ammunition.

In another instance, Bishnupur commandos and Nambol police seized another cache of arms and ammunition from Ahallup Bamdiar Awang Leikai.

The seized items include one SLR Rifle, two 303 Rifles, one pump action gun, three sleeping bags, 40 badges of KCP (PWG), two handset chargers, one bullet proof cover, two live rounds of SLR, two live rounds of 303 Rifle and 12 live rounds of pump action gun.
