MPCC vice-president Hareswar Goswami, secretary Johny and general se- cretary Nangnouhoi Abon-mai who took part in the protest rally were arrested by police.
Later, speaking to media persons, MPCC president K Meghachandra alleged that BJP leader Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been using the ED as his private agency to keep many leaders under house arrest.
He also accused the Prime Minister of taking full control of many institutions which are constitutional bodies.
Many constitutional institutions are on the verge of total collapse and democracy is under serious threat, the MPCC president said.
Asking the ED to remain a neutral body, Megha-chandra said that framing charges against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi after dragging their names in a money laundering case is nothing but humiliation of the Congress leaders.
Saying that BJP has been threatening the very foundation of democracy, Megha- chandra appealed to all the people to stand united and work collectively so as to topple the BJP-led Government at the Centre.
