More oppose all political parties resolution

A joint meeting of various tribal bodies held today at the office of Mizo People's Convention (MPC), here unanimously condemned the May 9, 2016 resolution adopted by the All Political Parties Meeting chaired by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh.
The meeting also noted that the resolution passed by all political parties' meeting does not represent the will and sentiments of the tribal people.
Leaders of Kuki Inpi, Manipur (KIM), United Naga Council (UNC), Hmar Inpui (HI), MPC and Zomi Council (ZC) held a consultative meeting realising the importance of a threadbare discussion on the emerging scenario in the wake of the resolution adopted by the All Political Parties Meeting convened by the Chief Minister on May 9 to send an all-party delegation to New Delhi to urge the Union Government to give assent to the three contentious Bills.
According to the proceedings of the meeting, which was made available to the press, the meeting after protracted deliberation, unanimously endorsed the proposed 48-hours total shutdown called by the JAC Against Anti-Tribal Bills and resolved to make the shutdown a total success.
The meeting also resolved that a Manipur-wide coordination committee be formed at the earliest to coordinate all the districts in the movement against the three 'anti-tribal' Bills and to strengthen the JAC.
The meeting also agreed that the presidents of United Naga Council (UNC) and Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) will be the Convenor and Co-Convenor of the meeting to form the co-ordination committee which will work in consultation with the JAC.
Two representatives each from Hmar Inpui, Kuki Inpi Manipur, Mizo People's Convention, United Naga Council and Zomi Council will form the new body.
It further resolved that a joint representation be submitted at the earliest to the President of India not to give his assent to the three 'anti-tribal' Bills.
Thadou Inpi tells TN Haokip to resign : Strongly condemning the resolution adopted by the All political parties meeting on May 9, the Thadou Inpi, Ghqs has demanded the resignation of MPCC president and MLA TN Haokip from his post for only taking the interest of one particular community.
In a statement, Thadou Inpi, Ghqs demanded the revocation of the 'anti-tribal' Bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly on Aug 31 for the good of all.
Asserting that although it does not oppose the demand for ILP in the State, the Thadou Inpi Ghqs in a statement said it opposes the three 'anti-tribal' Bills passed by the State Govt.It also alleged that the Congress party instead of working for all communities of the State, is working for one particular community.
The Congress Govt of Manipur and BJP Govt at the Centre should be held responsible for any unwarranted outcome out of the conversion of the Bills into Acts.
