Bishnupur, March 13 2016: Locals of Khoijumantabi took out a rally today protesting against the merging of Bora Laingoubi Lower Primary School at Khoijumantabi with Wangmataba Primary School, reports our correspondent.

Bora Laingoubi LP School and Wangmataba Primary School were merged almost 5 years ago.

However, the step has created many hindrances for the students of Khoijumantabi, Borayangbi, Chairen, Laingoubi and Leingangtabi.

Wangmataba Primary School is located around two and a half kilometres away from Khoijumantabi and its neighbouring areas.

Due to deplorable road condition, students and parents have been facing great difficulty to commute to and fro school.

The locals have urged local MLA S Bira Singh to consider the academic career of the students and address the grievances.
