Imphal, December 11 2015 : The District Women Committee (DWC) of United NGOs Mission Manipur (UNMM), Ukhrul and Participatory Action for Sustainable Development (PADSO), Ukhrul jointly organized International Human Rights Day cum workshop on violence against women yesterday at Phila Foods Training Hall, PADSO.

The event was organized to commemorate declaration of Universal Human Rights by the UN General Assembly on December 10, 1948 and also to conclude the fortnight observation of Action for Ending Violence Against Women, according to a press release issued by the convenor of UNMM.

International Human Rights Day was also observed at Chavangphai, Moreh by All Manipur Nupi Marup (AMNM) under the initiative of Chandel District Legal Services Authority yesterday with N Sonikumar, Judicial Magistrate and ST Mate, president of Hill Tribal Council, Moreh as chief guest and president respectively.

The function began with the welcome address given by Th Gyaneshwar, lecturer of Moreh college.

Advocate Manorama spoke about free legal aid, according to a press release issued by the president of AMNM.
