Imphal, September 11 2019:
A 9 member team of the JAC formed in connection with the death of Ningthoujam Babysana, led by its convenor L Gyaneshori, submitted a memorandum to the Governor today, appealing for the case to be quickly handed over the CBI and to deliver swift justice.
Speaking to media persons at Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai today, the JAC convenor said that during the meeting between the JAC and the Chief Minister on September 5, the JAC demanded for immediate and unconditional release of its arrested members, handing over of the case to the CBI after collecting necessary statement by a Magistrate etc.

As a reply, the CM assured to try and get the CBI to probe the case at the earliest and to urge the Union Home Minister to do the needful.
However, the deadline set by the JAC is September 15 but there has been no positive development, except the release of the arrested JAC members, she claimed adding that this prompted the JAC members to meet the Governor today and submit a memorandum.
If the State Government fails to take up any positive steps within the deadline set by the JAC, intense agitation will be launched, she warned.
