Imphal, July 11 2012:
The All Manipur Bus Owners' Federation (AMBOF) has decided to stop passenger bus service in the state from Thursday citing problem of unavailability of fuel in Imphal as all the filling stations have remained closed.
The fire incidents took place at Ibochou Services Station, Kakwa and Imo Filling Station at Singjamei Thokchom Leikai in Imphal.
The two filling stations had remained closed since July 5 after an underground faction allegedly served a demand note of Rs 10 lakh each to the two oil pumps, sources informed.
B Dhanabir, chairman, AMBOF told a press conference at the latter's office that the federation has decided to stop passenger bus service from tomorrow as all the petrol pumps have been shut.
He also cautioned other passenger vehicles not to ply by charging higher fare from passengers and said vehicle owners who go against the decision of AMBOF should be the sole responsibility for any untoward incident.
