Imphal, November 10 2014: Following the footsteps of its Imphal West counterparts, the JCILPS Students Wing, Imphal East has today expressed its preparedness to support the JCILPS spearheaded movement for protection of indigenous communities.

If no positive response is given to the Nov 18 deadline regarding ILPS implementation in the State, the JCILPS Students' Wing, Imphal East would launch different forms of agitation from Nov 19, Nongthombam Umakanta, general secretary of Naorem Behari College Students' Union, told reporters today during a press meet at Lamlong Hr Sec School.

Expressing strong resentment over the alleged failure of the State Home Dept to take action against Additional SP Y Victoria, Umakanta also demanded immediate action against the Additional SP for her alleged high-handedness against JCILPS members.

He said that students of Biramangol College, Naorem Behari College, MB College, Liberal College, Modern College, Standard College, Lamlong Hr Sec School and Ananda Singh Hr Sec School would join the agitation.

Other members of JCILPS Students' Wing, Imphal East present during the press meet have also conveyed their readiness to launch agitation from Nov 19 if no positive response to the demand for ILPS implementation in the State is coming forth by Nov 18 .
