He had tested positive for COVID-19 on RT-PCR test at Babina Diagnostics on September 8 .
After getting his test result, he visited RIMS with a complaint of cough and cold hiding his COVID-19 status.
Doctors at the hospital conducted Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and found his sample negative for COVID-19 .
As he tested negative on RAT, he was given some basic flu medicine and he left the hospital for his rented home at Lai Eshing Chaibi, Nagamapal Paonam Leikai.
Later the same day (September 9), police searched for him at Thangal Bazar as he had given the address at Babina Diagnostics.
Health Department then contacted COVID-19 Response Committee of Nagamapal Paonam Leikai member Khuraijam Athouba for assistance.
Massive search operation was launched by the local club and on September 9 evening at around 7, he was found hiding at a rented house.
He has been handed over to health authorities and lodged at COVID-19 Care Centre at Khwai Nagamapal Paonam Leikai.
Meanwhile, local leader Lalitchandra Soibam has appealed people not to conceal their COVID-19 status as it can endanger others.
