Mr World Shanti Kumar feted by TKS

The Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) has today organised a warm reception for Mr World title winner, Dr Ngangbam Shantikumar Meetei at the Tangkhul students' union office, here.
Dr Ngangbam Shanti-kumar was presented a Tangkhul traditional headgear which symbolises victory.
President of TKS, Yangmi Kapai lauded the achievement of the body builder that also brought laurels to the State.
Interacting with the audiences present at the occasion, Mr World, Dr Shantikumar said time management is crucial for achieving such a feat.
Taking up sports activities improves the health condition and makes the body fit, he said while encouraging the youth to take up sports He further urged the youths not to indulge in drugs, steroid, hormone or illegal stuff for fast body growth but should follow natural building process, patience and hard work.
His abidance to simple rules did not deter the realisation of his dream, he said adding that it only help him to reach his goals.
In the International sporting arena, Dr Shantikumar represented Taiwan in the Mr Universe event six times, Asian Games, Senior Mr Asia seven times, Senior East Asia three times and in Taiwan National games three times.
After his prolonged yet undeterred struggle, he won the Senior Mr Asia No 1 title in Greece in July 2013. Born in Imphal, Shantikumar is the youngest among ten siblings.
He also recalled sour and agonising memory of losing his kins to starvation.
His ambition and consistent hard work helped him to achieve such status, he said.
After receiving a Doctorate in English, he moved to Taiwan and works as Professor of English in De Lin Institute of Technology.
Side by side, he continued to hit gyms.
He is blessed with two sons and two daughters.
Saying that he took up body building as his hobby initially, Dr Shantikumar said that hobby can exalt one's life and can be dependable for mean of livelihood.
Education and exercise should go hand in hand.
He was also felicitated by the students of Sacred heart school, Ukhrul.
Interacting with the children, Dr Shantikumar said, hard work, confidence, punctuality and exercise together helped him to capture the limelight.
He also appealed to all the communities of the State to live in peace and harmony.
