Release full scholarship amount for OBC and SC students within 15 days, urges AMSU

Imphal, September 08 2021: The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) has urged the State Government to release the full scholarship amount for the OBC and SC students within 15 days.

Addressing the media at DM University campus, today, AMSU president Haobijam Chalamba cautioned that the union will launch intense agitation if the demand is not entertained.

Chalamba further demanded release of scholarship amount for students belonging to OBC and SC sponsored by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on time every year.

Saying that the amount helps poor students tide over certain difficulties, he added that the scholarship for 2020-21 for SC students were not released in total while the same for OBC students has not even started distributing.

He further said that any attempts to deduct money from the total amount for OBC students will not be accepted and urged the MOBC to ensure the students get the full amount at the earliest.

Chalamba further stated that AMSU has submitted a memorandum to the Director of MOBC Department to release the scholarship amount for the students yesterday.

He also urged the authority concerned to release the pending amount for students enlisted in the selection list for the scholarship for the academic session 2018-19 and 2019-20 too.
