Homage to S Robinhood Candle light vigil held all over

Imphal, August 08 2015 : People across the four valley districts of the State today observed candlelight vigil to pay homage to Sapam Robinhood, who was killed in police firing on July 8 .

Victim's family members along with friends, relatives and locals observed a two-minute silence at Minuthong, where Robinhood was hurt after a teargas shell fired from close range hit his face.

The atmosphere became emotionally charged after Robinhood's mother broke down in tears there.

People who came to observe the candlelight vigil shouted slogans demanding immediate implementation of ILPS in Manipur and punishment of the police personnel involved in the killing of the student.

JCILPS Student Wing had urged the people of the State to light candles at their respective gates to mark com- pletion of one month of Robinhood's death.

The candlelight vigil was also observed at Robinhood's locality Lairikyengbam Leikai and his school Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy.

On the otherhand, people across the four valley districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal and Bishnupur also observed the candlelight vigil.

Hostellers of the Manipur University also observed the candlelight vigil at MU Gate.

Candle light vigil was also held at JNIMS morgue premises where Robinhood's body is lying from July 8 .

Except family members, police prevented others from going inside the complex.

Candle light vigil was also observed at Robinhood's school, Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy.

A large number of security personnel were seen deployed at different localities to thwart any unwanted incident.
