3 held with 30,000 WY tablets, 460 gm heroin

Imphal, June 08 2022: A team of Imphal West commandos arrested three drug smugglers along with 460 gram of heroin and around 30,000 WY tablets from North AOC today.

According to credible sources, Imphal West commandos arrested two drug smugglers along with 36 soap cases of heroin weighing around 460 gram from North AOC in front of Tampha Hotel today at around 2 pm.

The two persons have been identified as T Paolenla Haokip (24), s/o Late Tonggin Haokip from Tuibong village, Chura-chandpur and Jangkholen Haokip (27), s/o Late Thengkhopao Haokip from Mongjang village, Chandel.

As per the source, the narcotic is to be delivered at Shillong.

They have been handed over to Imphal police station.

In another incident, Imphal West commandos arrested one more person along with 3.12 Kg of suspected WY tablets (around 30,000 pieces) from North AOC near the GST office at around 1 pm.

Reportedly, the drug smuggler who has been identified as MD Abdul Gafar (35), s/o Abdul Zalil of Kwakta Sevla Ward no 3 came in a bus bearing Assam registration number.

As per sources, MD Abdul Gafar had disclosed that the WY tablets are to be taken at Guwahati.

He also said that he will receive Rs 30,000 once the drugs are delivered .

He also has been handed over to Imphal police station.
