Lamka, January 08 2014:
For the se-cond time in less than ten days, Churachandpur today witness-ed another sensational murder as a 5-year-old girl who had gone missing since early yes-terday was found dead and half naked, suggesting possibility of sexual abuse before she was done to death.
Daughter of a Myanmare-se couple engaged in weaving local shawls, Zinzinmoo's body was found in a bamboo grove located along a rivulet about half a mile from their house at Nghathal locality.
Police said the body was found in a bamboo grove today around 7.30 am after the family and their friends laun-ched a frantic search after she reportedly had gone missing since leaving for her aunt's place in their neighbourhood, about 9 am yesterday.
With no clothes on the lo-wer half of the body and her pant placed over her face in an act believed to cover her face, police said the little girl bore no visible signs of injury but has marks that could be attributed to strangulation.
Trace of her excreta was plenty in her body and in the surrounding area, added the police.
The police immediately swung into action looking for the culprit/s as they questioned the Myanmarese coun- terparts of the girl's parents and rounded up people in the Nghathal area where the girl lives and conducted a head count at a nearby brick field where the workers were mostly non-locals.
By 4 pm, OC Chura-chandpur PS, Elvy Tunglut who headed the police team in the day-long operation said they were yet to pull-up any suspect in the case.
As equipment to conduct autopsy on crime of such nature was not readily available in the district, doctors will be able to conduct the autopsy only tomorrow, after necessary equipment were acquired from outside the district, said a source.
