Imphal, October 07 2015: Locals today staged a sit-in-protest and blocked Lamlai-Moirangpurel road to denounce the twin blasts that rocked the road yesterday morning.

A large number of people belonging to different communities took part in the protest organised by Ching-tam Apunba Lup.

A protester identified as Th Kaboklei said that the incident could create suspicion between hill and valley people had anybody been injured in the incident.

She added that security forces did not resort to any retributive action against the villagers although 49th Bn BSF personnel usually carry out foot patrols at the area.

Saying that yesterday's incident has created a fear psychosis in the people of the area, Kaboklei urged the concerned not to trigger such atttacks at the area in future.

Risouphung villager Amaran requested the concerned to clarify why bombs were exploded at the area.

Even as Lamlai police have taken up a case, no organisation has claimed responsibility of the yesterday's incident so far.
