Imphal, September 07 2014:
BJP Manipur and Nagaland in-charge Tapir Gao has assured that he would urge the Government of India to bring an immediate and applicable solution to the highway blockade being imposed by the UNC so that people of Manipur do not suffer from scarcity of essential commodities.
Speaking to media persons at the office of BJP Manipur Pradesh today, Tapir Gao said that he would go to Senapati and meet UNC leaders to grasp the ground reality.
The issue would be highlighted to the Central Government in order to work out a solution.
Pointing out that the NDA Government led by BJP is just 100 days old, Tapir Gao said that the Central Government would verify and monitor all development projects including the project of clearing phumdis from Loktak Lake.
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already sanctioned, a sports university would definitely come up in Manipur.
The sports university is not for MLAs or Ministers or BJP but for all sports lovers of the country.
It has been more than 10 years since Chief Minister O.Ibobi started ruling the State but his Government has been deliberately marginalizing many crucial issues like the issue of Inner Line Permit System.
The ILPS issue would be highlighted to the Central Government and sorted out, Tapir Gao said.
The film on Mary Kom has been made tax free in all States of India and it has been already made available in other parts of the North East.
The film deserves appreciation, Tapir Gao remarked.
The press meet was followed by felicitation of five persons who joined BJP anew.
The five persons who joined BJP are ex-MLA (Wangoi A/C) S Joy, AR Khan of Kshetrigao A/C, Tamenglong ADC Member M Daniel, Tamenglong ADC Member Haokholal Singson and IMC Ward No 4 (Uripok) Member H Santosh.
