CCpur NPF office attacked

CCpur, April 07 2019:
The residence of the president of NPF, Churachandpur, Genlunthang was attacked by workers and supporters of a rival candidate between 9 and 10 pm yesterday in which two sisters of the NPF president, Churachandpur unit identified as Kimhoidim and Doihsiam Mawi were injured as the attackers punched them on their faces.
Genlunthang said that the attackers came in two cars and broke the NPF sign board, posters, furniture and printers.
The attackers numbered about 10.Meanwhile district police along with troops of the Border Security Force today conducted a flag march in various parts of Churachandpur town in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The flag march was carried out under the combined supervision of Shivanand Surve, IPS, SDPO CCpur and two officers from BSF T Douminlian, Asst Commandant and Ajay Kumar, Asst Commandant, sources said.
About 300 troops from the BSF and a hundred from the district police took part in the march which began at 7 am and continued till noon.
The march was intended to instill confidence among the public to cast their votes without any fear or apprehension during the Parliamentary poll scheduled for Thursday, said security officials who also urged the public to inform the police/district administration if their is any threat or intimidation.
