Dimapur, March 07, 2014:
Left Nagaland four months ago for the national capital with the hope to achieve a break-through in the Indo-Naga political dialogue only to return home high and dry.
This is reflected in the decision of NSCN-IM chairman Isak Chisi Swu and the outfit's general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah to return to Nagaland on March 9. Well placed sources informed Newmai News Network in Dimapur this evening that Swu and Muivah along with ten other NSCN-IM leaders will be landing at Dimapur Airport as the formal talks between the Government of India and the Naga outfit is not possible now due to the ensuing Lok Sabha elections and with the code of conduct coming into force.
"However, a series of informal meetings were held with the Indian political leaders during their four months' stay in Delhi," stated the sources.
The last 'informal meeting' between the NSCN-IM leaders and the Government of India representatives was held as recent as last week, added the sources.
Meanwhile, as usual, the two NSCN-IM leaders are expected to meet Naga civil organisations during their stay at Camp Hebron, off Dimapur.
Swu and Muivah are likely to remain in Nagaland till June.
It is worthwhile to recall here that NSCN-IM leaders Isak Chisi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah left Nagaland for New Delhi on November 19 last year to resume the talks but after the series of informal meetings between the representatives of the Government of India and the NSCN-IM, the Centre's principal interlocutor RS Pandey's joining the fold of BJP has been the reason for the creation of the not-so-appealing ambience.
