Imphal, November 06 2012: The proscribed RPF has asserted that Hijam Babu was picked up by a combined team of Imphal East commandos and 28 Assam Rifles from Andro Kharam Leikai, Leichil Kappi before he was shot dead in an alleged fake encounter near Lunghar village in Ukhrul district.

Staging fake encounters at a time when the Supreme Court has come down heavily on the State Government for its failure to respond to charges of fake encounters has only exposed that State sponsored terrorism is being unleashed without any restraint, said a press release issued by the outfit's Publicity Secretary T Leishemba today.

Another statement issued by the Publicity Secretary conveyed that RPF/PLA was gratified on learning about Indian Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's order (F-No8/38/2009) which directed NIA to scuttle the outfit's network within Manipur and outside.

For an Indian agency like NIA which was set up quite recently, it would be like a battle between a minnow and a giant if they must take on RPF/PLA for the outfit has already consolidated its networks during the last 34 years.

Even if the NIA utilises all its wits and resources to suppress the outfit, it would be nothing more than waste of time and energy.

RPF/PLA has nothing to worry even if NIA agents are sent to Manipur in thousands, it added.
